Hello Everyone, we'll update here as much as we can regarding the team's progress at this year's event.

T.O.P. has increased their sponsorship level to gold. We've done this because Scotty (+ crew) puts on a great event and we want to be a part of it. IIC official site here.

Monday 8/25/2008:

Team is arriving in Las Vegas! We'll unpack and wrench to get ready for day 1 of practice tomorrow.

Tuesday 8/26/2008:

Day one of practice is in the books.

They ran 45 min of open practice starting at 7AM, followed by 2 rounds of controlled practice. By the end of the day there was definitely a groove in the track.

Josh ran his rubber tire car straight from the ROAR Nationals. It was okay but needs some tweaking to get it good. All three, Jason, Josh, and Kyle did more bench racing then anything. I guess this race snuck up on all of us. I got on the track more then they did combined. We were not too concerned about getting our cars dialed in as we all know the track conditions will change and bite will come up.

Tonight they are having a dinner for all the drivers. I snapped some random pics.

Wednesday 8/27/2008:

I apologize I wasn't able to keep up the live coverage due to time constraints and internet access at the track.

Day two of practice went okay. Josh continued to build his car and got it on the track. It was pretty good to start with. My rubber car was getting butter, but still needed to get the weight balance figured out. Kyle and Jason both started to figure out their foam car. Monte Hess running the scythe for the first time felt her car was pretty good. The track is holding up pretty good this year. The "fuzz" is minimal.

Here are some pictures from day two of practice:

Thursday 8/28/2008:

Day one of qualifying. Jason struggled a little bit. We'll have to rebuild his ride. Kyle started to get his ride going, but lacked a little motor. 13.5 rubber I smoked my motor with 40 seconds to go. :-( Josh is qualified 11th in both foam modified and rubber modified.

Friday 8/29/2008:

I had a decent last run and qualified 5th in 13.5 rubber. In mod rubber both Josh and I were in the B main, only a few second outside of the A. Josh did make the foam modified main! Kyle was in the B main of 13.5 foam.

Saturday 8/30/2008:

Main day. In Foam modified Josh started off to a good start and ran some pretty fast lap times. Halfway through the race he got caught up with a back marker and broke his car. I got mangled in the start and fell back to 8th but managed to claw my way back to the 5th spot.

Here are some pictures:
